seaside-2-by-shannon-rankin.jpg
Seaside 2 by selflesh @ Etsy.

This is a limited edition print of an “original gouache painting of multi-colored dots, which was embroidered with teal thread” by Shannon Rankin.

There is also a Seaside 1 (with pink threads) as well as a Seaside 3 (with green ones) and you can see a picture of the 3 side by side here @ her Flickr.

She also sells original embroidered paintings. I like this one very much (it has now been sold) :

Camera Camera Case - Degicame No.12 by hiné @ Etsy.

Like most really great craft objects it seems so obvious that once you see it you wonder how it could even be otherwise. It is both amazingly simple and perfect. Meet the “Camera Camera Case” by Hine [hee-neh] Mizushima a Japanese illustrator/puppet stop-motion video artist/crafter living in Vancouver, Canada.

She has 4 different designs (all originals) but my favorite one is this 3D one. Her choice of color is fantastic and each Camera Case is handmade, unique and OOAK. Just love this one in this color though !

You can see more of Hine Mizushima’s work on her Flickr.

Blythe quarter sleeve dress by Lalatroop @ Etsy.

I have been quite busy this last week and really did not have the time to post, so here’s just a great and colorful dress for Blythe dolls as I love color so much…

orange-and-textured-iron-bowl-by-lynn-cardwell-pottery.jpg
Orange and Textured Iron Bowl by Lynn Cardwell Pottery @ Etsy.

I do not fall for all of Lynn Cardwell’s pottery works, but I really really love her bowls. The contrast between the bright and glossy colors on the insides and the rough aspect of the outsides is very interesting, plus the shapes of her bowls are extremely beautiful. That orange one is a favorite of mine, I always come back to it, but then I love orange so much…

Her Ikebana vases are amazing too, they have the same kind of strength and simplicity.

Rocky Mountains Drawing No. 1 - Limited Edition Print by jaimers @ Etsy.

It probably might not show, but I try to write this blog a bit in the way of “film editing”, which means that I try to find some aesthetic (or thematic) connection between the articles on the main page, so I was wondering what to write to follow - actually precede for you readers - the Appalachian Crafstmen boards and I found this wonderful drawing by Jaime Derringer in my favorites.

There are actually 2 drawings entitled “Rocky mountains” - you can find No. 2 here but this one is really my favorite (although they would certainly look terrific as a pair). The original for No. 2 is still available.

I really love the colors of this one and the fact that the mountains are not centered and there is so much blank space. If you think this is a bit exagerated, just look at the image where it is shown framed and you will see how this is exactly right.

Jaime Derringer is the “bloggeress” behind Design Milk and she also runs an online store called Vitamin D(esign).
